Rev. Dr. David Preus

David Rolf Preus was born February 4, 1979 in Fort Wayne, IN. He is the second son of Rev. Rolf and Dort Preus. He was baptized on February 11, 1979 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Quincy, MI. David married Jennifer (née Reagles) on September 27, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Chapel on the campus of Bethany College in Mankato, MN. God has blessed their marriage with eight children. He and his family live in Santiago, Dominican Republic, where David serves as a missionary pastor and seminary professor.
David received his BA in Liberal Arts at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN in 2002. He earned his MDiv at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN (CTS) in May of 2007 and his PhD in Historical Theology at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO in May of 2018. Part of his doctoral education included a six-month research fellowship at the Institute for European History in Mainz, Germany in 2011. He was ordained into the Preaching Office on August 28, 2011 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Billings Montana, where he served as pastor for four years. In January of 2015, he accepted a call from the Board of International Missions to serve as a career missionary in the Dominican Republic. David has studied at four Lutheran seminaries, including Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary in Mankato, MN; Evangelisch-Lutherisches Seminar in Leipzig, Germany; Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN; Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO; and he is currently serving as professor of historical and dogmatic theology at Seminario Concordia el Reformador in Palmar Arriba, a mountain village north of Santiago, where he also serves as pastor and church planter.
